Principal's Message

YIS Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! It is both an honor and a privilege to serve this community as the principal of Yorkville Intermediate School. As a resident and parent in the Yorkville School District, I have witnessed firsthand the collaboration, support, and academic excellence in our schools. Our warm, welcoming community and focus on student success were driving factors in my desire to join the YIS family.

After graduating from St. Norbert College, my career in education began with a teaching position as a second grade teacher in Plainfield. I then taught fifth grade for nearly a decade, and earned my master’s degree in educational leadership through Benedictine. I have spent the last seven years as an assistant principal in Plainfield. 

I am eager to continue building on the success of the YIS community. My hope is that every child who enters our doors will feel seen, valued, cared for, and safe to learn and grow. My door is open for parents and caregivers–I welcome the opportunity to get to know you. Together, your family and our staff will be a team who will put students and their learning first. I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s education.
